Fairy Tales - Entering the Fantasy World at GOMA

This time, GOMA’s fairy tale exhibition is truly thoughtful, immersing you deep into a dark and enchanting world of fairy tales, and unveiling the other side of these timeless stories. It feels like stepping through the doorway of fairy tales, greeted by the faint glow of Cinderella’s glass slipper and a pumpkin carriage.

This is not just an exhibition; it’s more like an artistic symphony within a fairy tale. The Fairy Tales exhibition at GOMA explores beloved folk stories and film works that have been cherished for centuries!

Entering the Fantasy World

This exhibition is truly surprising, and richer in content than one could imagine.

About fairy tales, apart from the stereotypical impressions of Snow White and Cinderella, poison apples, magic mirrors, dwarfs, glass slippers, and pumpkin carriages, there are also various bizarre and mysterious dark elements waiting for you to explore.

Escape the summer heat and step into the world of dark fairy tales, unique roses in the castle, poisonous red apples, midnight pumpkin carriages, vines in the dark forest, magic glass slippers, and potions that make you shrink.

The theme of this exhibition is the world of fairy tales, and there are many costumes related to the “Mirror Mirror” on display.

The “Into the Woods” series at the entrance is an impressive piece by a Brazilian artist.

The main artistic contents include:

  • Costumes from the Russian Ballet adaptation of “The Nightingale”
  • “Beauty and the Beast” costumes
  • “Donkey Skin”
  • “Labyrinth”
  • “Where the Wild Things Are”
  • “Alice in Wonderland”
  • 2012’s movie costumes and props from “Mirror Mirror”
  • More content from 2015’s “Cinderella” and others
