We’ve always heard that the Emperor’s Puffs in Sydney is famous, so we decided to buy some while we were in Chinatown! When we arrived, we were shocked to see a super long queue and it was mind-boggling! We waited for about 20 minutes!
Emperor’s Puffs – Things you need to know
The freshly baked Emperor’s Puffs were really fragrant! On a rainy day, holding a box of steaming hot puffs was truly blissful!
The puffs are small and soft, with a molten filling, so they are not too heavy or greasy. Two people finished all 12 puffs in no time, just like eating small snacks.
However, they might not taste as good when cold, so I don’t recommend buying too many!
The piping-hot Emperor’s Puffs are really delicious, but you have to be careful! The molten filling right out of the oven is super hot!
If you don’t want to spend 30 minutes or even longer queueing up, we would suggest avoiding weekends because there are way too many people!
Emperor’s Puffs are they expensive?
You can buy one for 55 cents, $4 for 8 pieces, or $5 for 12 pieces. The prices are really affordable, and you can indulge in the Emperor’s Puffs directly. Although the queue was long, the puffs were baked quickly! Each puff ran on the track like a little train, which was really cute!
How are Emperor puffs made?
It is made using a small assembly line machine. At first glance, it looks like a small cake, but when you take a bite, there’s a burst of creamy custard filling!
