The White Rabbit Gallery gallery is a hidden gem in the city, unlike the Art Gallery of NSW, White Rabbit Gallery is tucked away in a residential area behind Chippendale, making it easy to miss. This independent four-story building houses a small exhibition space with free guided tours.
On the ground floor, there’s a cafe which is perfect for grabbing a coffee and chatting about the exhibit with friends after your visit! The journey to the gallery is itself a work of art. With quaint coffee shops and corner flower stores along the way, the experience is serene and enchanting at any time.
Current exhibition at White Rabbit Gallery
The current exhibition is called Laozi’s Furnace, all artworks are created by Chinese artists and incorporate various mythological stories and the short films.
One piece that caught our interest is a painting titled 64Hz, 48Hz. Another intriguing work is on the top floor. The artist explores the idea, “If a painting wasn’t created on paper, what form would it take”. We absolutely love these whimsical and unique perspectives.
The gallery isn’t just for art students, anyone can visit. Take advantage of the holidays to enhance your aesthetic appreciation. Beyond taking photos, you can take some time to quietly appreciate the art.
