Today we want to recommend to everyone a super loving place in Sydney, the Thames Street Library, it is not an ordinary bookstore, but a street library full of warmth and stories. The bookstore sits by the harbour, as if floating on the water, and you can also see boats moving around nearby. This location is simply perfect.
After doing some research, this bookstore is so special because it floats on the sea surface. This is a red street library next to the harbour ferry wharf platform, very close to the sea, next to it is Sydney Harbour. Standing here reading you can hear the sound of sea breeze and ferries.
This library is a red small bookshelf full of books, quietly standing beside the ferry terminal like an isolated island full of books.
Most of the books on the shelf come from donations by nearby residents, there are novels, magazines, and various children’s readings. we also found a poetry collection with a faded cover, on the yellowed pages there were words left by the previous owner. There are no rules here, taking books and placing books all rely on trust between people.
Sometimes when you want to be alone, coming here feels very comfortable, not lonely and very relaxing.
Choose a sunny day to go, the sparkling sea surface is excellent for photos. The wind on the deck is strong, it is recommended to bring a jacket.
Check the return timetable, do not miss the last service. You can bring one of your own books to exchange, it is very meaningful!
