Best High Tea in Sydney You should Try

The Tea Room QVB

This is a must-visit spot for afternoon tea lovers. The decor is very elegant with sparkling crystal chandeliers and vintage patterned teacups, exuding a strong British royal court vibe. The taste of the afternoon tea is also excellent, with various sets to choose from. The freshly baked savory snacks are crispy and hot, highly recommended! The scones with cream and jam are also surprising in taste and not at all greasy.

📍 455 George St, Sydney NSW 2000

The Langham

This place’s beauty and taste are both top-notch. The traditional set has three layers, with the desserts exquisitely made and not overly sweet on the top layer. The middle layer has savoury options, such as egg mayo sandwiches, cucumber sandwiches, and smoked salmon crepes, all generously portioned. The bottom layer is full of sandwiches, looking very tempting.

📍 89-113 Kent St, Millers Point NSW 2000

The Tea Cosy

This is an affordable and delicious English afternoon tea spot with a romantic and vintage atmosphere, where every corner is carefully decorated and perfect for taking pictures. Their signature scones are a must-try, paired with exclusive secret recipe jams and cream, truly a mouthful of satisfaction. The hot scones are also fantastic, with a crispy outer layer and super soft inside, giving a full sense of happiness when eating.

📍 7 Atherden St, The Rocks

Petal Met Sugar

This is an afternoon tea spot that combines 🌷 fresh flowers and sweets, with an unbeatable girly vibe. They specialise in glass cabinet afternoon tea, where different sweets and flowers are placed in each compartment according to the season, serving both sweet and savoury items all at once, and all very delicious! The soft scones and honey cream are also a perfect match, and incredibly tasty.

📍 68 Sir John Young Cr, Woolloomooloo, NSW 2011

Gunners Barracks

This British afternoon tea spot with a mountain and sea view has won countless good reviews for its environment and quality. The menu is mainly divided into sweet and savoury items, with generously portioned scones served beforehand. The savoury options include sandwiches, and the special zucchini and green pepper omelette dish is also worth trying! The desserts include sponge cakes, macarons, and cakes, with the sweetness just right. Closed on Mondays, so make sure not to waste a trip there!
