Alexandra Hills Hotel
We’ve stumbled upon another gem of a family-friendly restaurant where you can easily spend 3 to 4 hours and not get bored. This restaurant is actually located inside a somewhat remote hotel. We didn’t have high expectations before going, but it turned out to be fantastic.
The outdoor section of the restaurant is beautifully decorated with an Instagram-worthy avocado green colour. Next to it, there’s a fenced area for kids to play, and all the newly built facilities are very clean. Adults can enjoy their food and drinks while the kids entertain themselves.
Here’s the highlight: Every Sunday from 12 PM to 3 PM, they host free activities, and the activities change each time. When we went on a Sunday, they had a farm animal exhibit and pony rides. Make sure you check their Facebook page for updates on the Sunday activities.

Chipmunks Playland & Café MacGregor

The Wattle Hotel is a great destination for families with children. The standout feature of this venue is the big indoor playground that will keep the kids entertained for hours. While the playground is awesome, it may be more suited to older kids. Nonetheless, it’s a fantastic spot to have dinner as parents can relax and enjoy the delicious food while the kids are occupied in the playground. The playground is packed with tube slides and other fun climbing attractions, making it a wonderful adventure for children to explore. Open plan tables are available within the playground, and additional seating is available outside, adjacent to the play area, separated by glass. This allows parents to supervise their children while enjoying their meal or drinks nearby, yet far enough away to enjoy the happy sounds of excited children. Overall, the Wattle Hotel is a great spot for families looking for a fun and enjoyable outing.
