Best Restaurants with Playgrounds for Kids in Perth

Playdates Kids Cafe

This indoor playground is currently a hot topic among Perth moms, and yes, we’ve been eager to check it out for a while. Finally, we made a visit, and it’s best to go on regular weekdays. You can imagine that weekends are a disaster.

As soon as we walked in, the cute and pink atmosphere got my daughter and me super excited to dive in, but first, we had to buy our tickets. The ticket prices are $18.8 for one hour or $43.8 for the whole day (note: tickets for the small train ride are separate and cost $3 for one ride or $5 for two rides).

Upon entering, we went straight to the carousel, next to which there is a doctor-themed corner. They provide doctor and nurse uniforms and hats for the children to play with. There are plenty of costumes and boxes of wooden medical toys. In addition to stethoscopes, there is a hospital bed and a medical desk.

Our favourite area, the princess zone! The princess dresses they provide are of much better quality than those you usually find at Kmart or Target. They are suitable for children aged 2-6, but not all costumes come in all sizes, so pick what’s available. There are two dressing tables with seats and a makeup display counter resembling a department store.

The home corner features a kitchen and various fruits and vegetables. There are three trolleys provided. My daughter had a blast shopping while dressed as Elsa with a crown. This princess is truly down-to-earth.

Other areas include a fishing zone, a zip line area, and a small train.

Roar Bar & Grill

As far as child-friendly restaurants go, Roar Bar & Grill is hard to beat. The restaurant boasts a massive outdoor playground, which is perfect for kids of all ages.

One of the standout features of Roar Bar & Grill is their Adventure playground, which is themed and comes complete with a big jumping pillow. The playground is simply amazing and is sure to keep the little ones entertained for hours on end.

In fact, the playground is so impressive that it almost feels like you’re on a holiday! The kids will have a ball here, and they won’t want to leave, even when it starts to get dark and bedtime looms.

The playground itself is a unique mix of wood climbing frames, a boat, a vehicle, and a jumping pillow, all securely nestled in soft white sand. If you’re looking for a child-friendly restaurant that ticks all the boxes, then Roar Bar & Grill is definitely worth checking out.

Blacksmith Cafe

Blacksmith Cafe on Beaufort St in Highgate is a cafe I really enjoy going to with kids. The owner is super nice! Every time we go, she warmly greets the kids. On weekdays, it’s usually not very busy. If you go on the weekend, many tables are reserved, so it can get quite crowded.

The cafe’s interior is styled in a very retro fashion, and you can choose to sit in the front or in the backyard. When it comes to cafes for kids, having a play area is my favourite. In the backyard, there’s a large sandpit with sand toys, and there’s also a playroom with small tables and chairs. They used to have LEGO on the tables, but it’s not there today, so they might change it up from time to time.

Their food is pretty good, and the coffee is quite good too! They also sell some handmade products, toys, princess dresses, and other small items.

Pasta in the Valley

Early in the morning, we went to Bells Rapids to see the small river and do some hiking. After that, we visited Swan Valley, and the kids’ favourite Italian restaurant, Pasta in the Valley! It’s perfect for families with kids. You can sit outside and dine while the kids play on the slides, swings, and in the sand. Older kids can play basketball or soccer with their dads! The atmosphere is fantastic, with some grapevines around and accordion music playing, making you feel like you’re in Italy!
