Surprisingly, there is a Harry Potter cottage in Brisbane, located in Samford town. You can use Google Maps to navigate to ‘The Store of Requirement.’
The store sells a lot of Harry Potter merchandise. There were many familiar scenes and characters. When we entered, the store clerk was conducting a sorting ceremony with a group of kids!
The store isn’t very big, but for Harry Potter fans, it’s a very happy place!
The experience
Both inside and outside are decorated with a strong Harry Potter theme. Right at the entrance is the Weasley family’s flying car, meticulously detailed, and you can even see a spider inside the car. As you step up, there are pumpkin stools, complemented by nearby trees, creating a truly enchanting Harry Potter atmosphere.
And inside there are many items related to the original story, such as the Sorting Hat, the Wand Display Room, and a hippogriff with a horse’s body and wings.
Examining everything in the shop takes quite a bit of time. Next to the store is a small hut that simulates the set of a Hogwarts classroom. We waere pleasantly surprised to find a Cornish Pixie attempting to escape from a cage hanging from the ceiling!
Whatever Harry Potter merchandise you desire, you can find it here. Our favourite might be the magic wand! The overall atmosphere in the cottage is truly enchanting.
Adjacent to the shop is a coffee shop, and across the street is the town’s museum, with a park next to it. When we visited, it was pouring rain, so we took shelter in a cafe on the street, enjoyed some ice cream, and when the rain stopped, we finished the ice cream. The bubblegum flavour was delicious.
