Kangaroo Island Must-See Attractions

Kangaroo Island Wildlife Park

We recommend arriving early to the park to beat the crowds and make the most of your time. As you step into the park, you’ll immediately be greeted by the sounds of native Australian wildlife. Kangaroos hop around freely while koalas lounge in the trees, and you’ll find yourself in the midst of an exciting adventure.

As you wander through the park, keep your eyes peeled for the park’s star attraction – the kangaroos! These adorable marsupials are a joy to watch, and if you’re lucky, you might even get the chance to feed them. Just be sure to follow the guidelines set by the park staff to ensure everyone’s safety.

Another tip we have is to take advantage of the park’s guided tours. Led by knowledgeable staff, these tours provide a deeper understanding of the animals and their habitats. Plus, it’s a great opportunity to ask any burning questions you might have.

Kangaroo Island Ocean Safari – Snorkelling Safari

With the chance to swim with wild dolphins or among curious seals, this is an incredible wildlife encounter you won’t want to miss. Before diving in, head to The Visitor Information Centre in Penneshaw where you’ll be equipped with a wetsuit, mask, snorkel, and fins, and given a safety briefing. Then hop on board our 28-seater vessel and let the adventure begin!

As you set out to explore the breathtaking coastline, keep your eyes peeled for the cheeky seals basking on the rocks and frolicking in the water. Once we find them, it’s time to dive in! These playful seals are always curious and interactive, making for a unique and fun snorkelling experience. In fact, Kangaroo Island Ocean Safari is the only operator in South Australia that offers the chance to swim with the Long-nosed Seals – a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity!

Kangaroo Island Quad Bike Tours

But before you hit the trails, they will take you through a brief safety orientation, and give you the chance to get comfortable riding on our practice track. Once you’re feeling confident, we’ll head out on tour with one of our experienced guides.

The tour is perfect for everyone from first-timers to seasoned riders, and they tailor each experience to the abilities of our guests. The minimum age for riders is 10 years, but younger participants can take part as passengers with their guide.

You’ll start with a leisurely ride along an open trail, allowing you to get used to your bike and get comfortable on the trails. From there, we’ll wind our way through some beautiful bushland, including big sandy berms that are a blast to ride on.

You’ll then head through some flat and smooth farmland, giving you the chance to pick up speed and really feel the wind in your hair. There’s plenty to see along the way, and depending on the weather and time of year, you may get to see kangaroos, wallabies, koalas, goannas, echidnas, and eagles.

Clifford’s Honey Farm

Are you ready for a sweet and buzzing experience? Then it’s time to head over to Clifford’s Honey Farm on Kangaroo Island, where you’ll get to taste some of the purest and most delicious honey you’ve ever had!

One of the best things about Clifford’s is the opportunity to learn about the honey-making process. You’ll get to see the bees hard at work in their hives, and you can even try on a beekeeping suit and get up close and personal with the bees themselves. It’s an experience you won’t forget in a hurry!

Of course, the real star of the show is the honey itself. Clifford’s offers a wide range of honey varieties, each with its own unique flavour profile. From the light and floral Yellow Box honey to the rich and earthy Red Gum honey, there’s something to suit every taste. You can even sample some of the different honeys to find your favourite.

Flinders Chase National Park

Flinders Chase National Park on Kangaroo Island in South Australia is a magnificent destination that caters to a range of visitors’ interests. The park boasts a natural wonder, the Remarkable Rocks, which is a spectacular rock formation shaped by wind, rain, and sea spray that provides an ideal opportunity to capture memorable photographs. Admirals Arch

If you’re looking for a short and easy walk that offers incredible views of the Southern Ocean, look no further than Admirals Arch. This geological formation is just a stone’s throw away from the carpark, making it accessible for all types of travellers.

As you make your way down the headland, keep an eye out for the long nosed fur seals that bask in the sun on the rocks. They may seem lazy, but they add to the charm and allure of this natural wonder.

Seal Bay Conservation Park

As you wander down the boardwalk, you’ll catch your first glimpse of the park’s star attractions – the Australian sea lions. These graceful creatures lounge on the sandy beaches, soaking up the sun and occasionally taking a dip in the crystal-clear waters. It’s an unforgettable sight, watching these magnificent animals in their natural habitat, and you’ll find yourself spellbound by their beauty.

But there’s more to see at Seal Bay Conservation Park than just the sea lions. Take a stroll through the sand dunes and you’ll discover a diverse range of flora and fauna. Keep an eye out for the Tammar Wallabies, hopping along the path, and the Western Grey Kangaroos, lazing in the shade. You might even spot an echidna or two if you’re lucky!

Little Sahara Adventure Centre

The adventure centre is located in the heart of Kangaroo Island, and as you approach the towering sand dunes, you can already feel the sense of excitement! You’ll be provided with all the necessary equipment, including sandboards and toboggans, and given a quick safety briefing before you set off on your adventure.

As you climb to the top of the dunes, the stunning panoramic views of the island will take your breath away. From here, you’ll have the choice of how to make your descent.
