Daiki Grill and Bar – A special Sichuan cuisine restaurant in Brisbane

daiki grill and bar

Recently, several new stores have opened in Sunnybank Hills Gowan Village. One of them is Daiki Grill and Bar, which has a cheerful name. Don’t be misled by its decoration and colour tones in the photos you see on TikTok, as it is not a nightclub or other entertainment venue, but actually a Sichuan restaurant! The decoration of this restaurant is super cool, especially at night! It has a great atmosphere.

This is a Sichuan cuisine restaurant that operates until late at night, and its specialty is that it serves unique Sichuan dishes such as Wanzhou Grilled Fish. The taste is authentic and delicious, and even Sichuan-Chongqing locals praise it after trying it.

The menu at this restaurant is very comprehensive, offering classic Sichuan dishes as well as skewers and small barbecues. The spicy dishes are particularly impressive and definitely not for the faint of heart! For those who can’t handle the heat, it’s recommended to choose non-spicy dishes.

What to try at Daiki Grill and Bar?

Wanzhou Grilled Fish: The fish used is a large blind carp, which is pre-grilled so that the fish skin is crispy. After being cooked and immersed in the broth, it is very delicious. There are no additional side dishes, but the fish itself is satisfying.

Our favourite parts are the lotus root slices and bamboo shoots inside, which are very flavourful. What’s worth praising is that the grilled fish is lined with paper, so even if it is cooked for a long time, it will not stick to the bottom of the pot and will only become more flavourful!

Snail and Chicken Stir-fry: Recommended by the staff, it was my first time seeing snails and chicken stir-fried together. We thought it might be a disaster, but it turned out surprisingly delicious!

Dry-fried Green Beans: A classic Sichuan dish that everyone loves.
