Black Spur Drive – Things you need to know

This road has a total driving time of approximately 30 minutes and is part of the Maroondah Highway. The road is lined with dense ferns and straight trees, resembling scenes from a movie. The scenery along the way is breathtaking!

If you roll down the car window while driving through the forest, you can smell the fragrance of Australian shrubs. The lush forest landscape connects the Yarra Valley with the surrounding mountainous areas of Marysville. The towering trees and spectacular valley views are truly amazing!

It’s suitable for visiting in any weather. On a sunny day, the sunlight filters through the leaves and scatters on the road. When the sunlight shines on the cool green ferns, you can see the shapes of light, creating a magical atmosphere. On a cloudy day, Black Spur Drive exudes a mysterious atmosphere, as if driving through an unknown area of dark magic within the forest.

Along the way, there is the Fernshaw picnic area, and you’ll pass by towns like Healesville, Marysville, and Narbethong, where you can take a break.
