After a long day, we thought, let’s go have something tasty! And we were attracted by the sign outside, we ended up at this magical restaurant (Tokyo Motto). With a mindset of just giving it a try, we ordered this ice cream chili noodle and it really was something!
You might be curious about the taste of this ice cream ramen and wonder if this dish really not invented by accident when a chef accidentally dropped ice cream into the ramen!
What we think about the Ice Cream Ramen
Although it looks like a bizarre dish, we came specifically for this dish. The soup is quite tasty. Even when the ice cream melts, the soup doesn’t become too sweet. The broth is spicy on its own, and the sweetness from the ice cream adds a unique flavour. It’s a taste that we really enjoy.
We think it’s kind of like adding milk to spicy hot pot. The ice cream melts and neutralises the spiciness of the ramen. It’s actually pretty good. For those who can’t handle spicy food, they might find it to be a novel flavour.
For someone like us who sometimes sprinkles chili powder on ice cream, this was actually really good! It’s literally ice cream dipped into noodle soup! There’s even spicy pork on the side!
