When is strawberry season in Perth?
As we all know, Perth’s strawberry picking season lasts from late winter to spring and early summer (late August to early December) which means Spring is just the perfect time to go strawberry picking. When Spring has come, many fruit and vegetable farms around Perth are entering the harvest season. In the Gnangara area northeast of Perth, several strawberry farms will open to the public for pick-your-own activities!
Tips for strawberry picking?
Most strawberry fields open early in the morning, so you should go early! If you go early, there won’t be too many people, and there will be parking spaces. When we finished picking and went home, the car was already parked far away from the strawberry field. It is best to check before you go to see if the farm is open.
When picking strawberries, you can bring a bottle of water and rinse off a strawberry to taste its flavour. This way, you won’t pick sour strawberries. Also, be sure not to pick ones that are too red because they will spoil easily if left out!
Remember to protect yourself from the sun when you go! It’s really hot, and if you get too much sun exposure, you could get sunburn.
Best places to go strawberry picking in Perth
Kien’s Strawberry Farm
This time we went to Kein’s Strawberry Farm located in the north of Perth CBD, a 22km drive taking about half an hour.
We arrived at 9am and the side of the road was already filled with parked cars. Fortunately, we found a parking spot close to the entrance. After paying $15 in cash, we received a large cardboard box to start picking strawberries! (There was no limit on the number of people for one box).
The weather was great – not too cold or too hot – and we finished picking in less than an hour, with plenty of small strawberry mountains filling up our boxes! For those who love strawberries, not only is the price reasonable, but the whole process is also exciting, happy, and fulfilling.

Pick your own Strawberries Bullsbrook
The location is at 263 Old W Rd, Bullsbrook, WA. The cost is $2 per person, and each box costs $15, and you can pick as much as you want. The box can hold about 9 pounds of strawberries when it’s full!
We finished picking in about an hour by strolling around and snacking on the strawberries as we picked them. Remember to bring a water bottle with you because you can snack while picking.
Sue & Tim’s Fresh Farms
This strawberry farm opens at 8 am on Saturday morning, so friends, be sure to go early! Be sure to go early! If you go early, there aren’t too many people, and there are still parking spots available. When we finished picking and returned home, our car was parked far away from the strawberry farm. Additionally, if you go early, the price is $15 per box. If you go late, it becomes $20 per box (we heard this when we were leaving after picking).

We picked a box of strawberries for $10 each without an admission fee. Each person’s box was piled up like a small mountain! The address is 44 Joyce Rd, Gnangara WA 6077.
