Unko Museum – Japan’s Cute “Poop Museum” is coming to Melbourne

Unko Museum - Japan's Cute "Poop Museum" is coming to Melbourne

As early as 2019, this quirky “Poop Museum” opened in Yokohama, Japan, and now it’s finally in Melbourne!

Following the philosophy of “everything can be cute,” Unko Museum has successfully turned excrement into “cute things”!

Parents raising children know that during the process of a child growing up, there will inevitably be a period of interest in “poop, pee, and fart.” These things are simply a source of joy for them.

This museum comes at just the right time. Inside, it doesn’t have real excrement but colorful poop models and various interesting facilities.

Experience

Visit the world’s only international museum dedicated to showcasing poop. Enter a cute world inspired by Japanese “kawaii” aesthetics.

Upon entering the exhibition hall, you will be asked to choose a toilet to sit on. Then, the staff will instruct everyone to exert force together, and after the countdown of 3, 2, and 1, a sound effect will play. When you turn around and look into the toilet, a random poop model will unexpectedly appear which can be taken home as a souvenir!

The museum is not just an exhibition space about poop but also a fantastic place that combines art, fun, and education. Here, through vivid exhibitions, creative artworks, and delightful interactive experiences, poop is presented as an interesting cultural symbol.

Various amusing interactive experiences await you in the museum. You can not only admire exquisite poop artworks created by artists but also actively participate in various creative games, experiencing the magic of poop firsthand. Don’t miss those amusing poop-themed installations; they will undoubtedly give you a memorable photo experience.

  • Enjoy unique photo opportunities in many dreamlike settings;
  • Purchase cute souvenirs from Unko Factory;
  • After great success in Japan, it comes to Australia for the first time;
  • A fun and quirky experience suitable for the whole family!

Educational Significance

In addition to the fun, this museum emphasises the importance of environmental protection and healthy habits to visitors. Through a lively approach, you will unconsciously gain some knowledge about poop and health. This unique educational method is admirable!
