SAISON – Melbourne’s Most Beautiful Cakes

SAISON - Melbourne's Most Beautiful Cakes

What we think

A few days ago, we finally checked out Saison, which has been on our radar for a while. It truly lives up to the hype in terms of both aesthetics and taste.

SAISON is just down a small alley from Aurora, and you can spot directional signs by the roadside. The cakes are absolutely stunning, but they come in a very small size, which makes them a bit on the pricey side (around $12-$13 each). They have many flavours like yuzu, taro, mango, and rose lychee.

Especially noteworthy was the cheesecake inspired by Tom and Jerry, which was so delicately adorable that we almost couldn’t bear to eat it!

What you should try

Firstly, we feel that when you visit their shop, you must try the Yuzu Cheesecake. It’s shaped exactly like a piece of cheese, just like Jerry has to have one! The scent of yuzu and cheese intertwines, and it’s incredibly sweet and fragrant with every bite.

Personally, we really liked the Camellia Flower flavor. It’s crafted so beautifully, with each petal looking incredibly lifelike. Who can resist the texture of rose and lychee coming together in your mouth?

Mango Sago is perfect for those who love mango. It’s paired with coconut, lemon, and sago, offering a refreshing and rich texture. Our friend really enjoyed the Taro Delight. Shaped like a heart, it’s simply too cute. Tofu, taro, and soy milk—each element is close to our hearts.

Pandora’s Box adds an element of fun to the experience. You can gently open it to experience the texture of the chocolate. Lastly, the Whispers Of Coconut is another favourite! After trying them all, each one has its unique charm! Pair them with their coffee or specialty drinks for a delightful afternoon tea experience.

The seating in the store is limited, so we usually get the treats to go. They offer several other cake flavours in the store that caught our eye, so we’ll definitely be back for more!
