Red Hill Lavender Farm – Lavender Farm near Mornington

Red Hill Lavender Farm - Lavender Farm near Mornington

A lavender farm that looks stunning whether it’s sunny or cloudy. However, it will be closed from the 29th of this month until next year, so if you want to visit, seize the time and go quickly!

About an hour’s drive from Glen, as soon as you get out of the car, you’ll see four neatly arranged lavender fields, dense and filled with the fresh scent of lavender. In the middle of the farm, there’s a small shop where you can buy lavender products such as soap, aromatherapy, lavender teddy bears, etc. Freshly cut lavender is $9 a bunch, perfect for photo props. The shop assistant taught me to hang it upside down at home to make dried flowers.

Experience

On the way to Mornington, we visited a free lavender farm. Initially, we didn’t have high expectations, thinking it would be a casual visit since it’s free. To our surprise, the place turned out to be great for photography.

Even though it was cloudy at the time, the atmosphere was still enchanting. The entire area is spacious, and with few people around, it’s very comfortable. Not sure if it gets busier on sunny days, but one thing is for sure – photos will look even better on a sunny day!

There’s also a small retail tent on-site where you can buy flowers, lavender essential oils, hand creams, and other lavender-related products. Lavender bouquets are $9 each and make for excellent photo props. Furthermore, this farm will be closed from January 29th and will reopen next year. So, if you plan to visit, act quickly!

Be sure to check the specific opening hours before going. The detailed opening hours are attached to the last image on the official website.

Tips

Avoid going too deep into the flower beds as there are many bees and insects!

There are no toilets, restaurants, or cafes in the lavender farm, but sightseeing in the garden is free.

You can support the small shop on the lavender farm, which offers various lavender essential oils, soaps, figurines, lavender honey, and fresh lavender flower bouquets!

Getting here

Since the journey is quite far, it is advisable to check the official website again on the day of your visit to confirm if it is open to avoid disappointment!

Red Hill Lavender Farm & Distillery has a large parking lot, and parking is free. Open from Friday to Sunday, 10 am to 4 pm. Sisters who want to check in and take photos, remember to go early because it gets sunny in the afternoon so don’t forget to apply sunscreen!

The official website indicates the last open dates are January 20th, 21st, 26th, 27th, and 28th.
