Recently I took my kid to check out the newly opened Landing Playcentre Altona, and it was honestly a bit of a pleasant surprise.
Starting from Docklands, getting onto Westgate Bridge, it takes less than 20 minutes — very friendly distance for those near the CBD.

As soon as we went in, my kid ran straight to the ball pit.
That area is really big, and there are also projection interactive games. The most popular one is the colorful light tunnel slide, plus a stainless steel spiral slide and two large wave slides.
The climbing equipment is everywhere, with play installations in every corner.
There’s an interactive spider light device — my kid played there for a long time and didn’t want to leave. Climb up and walk through a passage, and you reach the signature inflatable bouncing area, paired with wall climbing setups — kids instantly switch into adventure mode.
There’s also a baby area for younger kids, with a spinning giraffe, foot piano, and small climbing slides — the facilities are quite new.
On the second floor, there’s a supermarket and mini kitchen area, but the most attractive for my kid was the car repair and construction truck brick-moving zone — mine was completely locked in there for a long time.
But the thing that moved me the most is actually — the play area has enough height for adults to walk upright. Finally not the kind of playcentre where you have to crawl around with your kid and come out with a broken back.
Since it’s newly opened, there are a bit more people, but the space is really quite large. Sometimes staff will also open party rooms to add more seating. Overall, the experience is still very good.
The price is also quite nice: just over $20 for one adult and one child, plus a $4 drink voucher. Among Melbourne playcentres, it’s considered very high value for money.
