MOPA Thomastown Review

It’s weekend again — time to take the kids out. Today we chose MOPA in the north. We’ve been once before, and the kids didn’t want to leave at all, so we went again today.

This is a museum specially designed for children and families. It blends art, creativity, and play together, using all kinds of fun and interactive ways to spark kids’ imagination and creativity. The space isn’t huge, so adults can sit and chat while the kids run wild inside — you literally can’t catch them.

MOPA Thomastown Review

The Thomastown location isn’t too crowded, so the experience is amazing! Recommend booking in advance on the official website. MOPA Thomastown

For kids aged 2+, there’s so much to do — painting cars, playing with balls, slides, Lego, building houses, even water play. Super high play value. Feels like just trying a bit of everything can easily fill an entire afternoon. There’s also a dancing party at certain times.

For babies under 2, there’s a soft play area — very safe and great for burning energy. During the dancing party, both big kids and little ones get super excited.

It includes several zones:

  • Art creation area: kids can freely draw, collage, and DIY
  • Sensory exploration area: colors, sounds, and structures all set up — kids won’t want to stop playing
  • Interactive exhibition spaces: every detail is thoughtfully designed
  • Super photogenic: perfect color schemes, great from every angle
  • Parent rest area is so considerate: sit down, grab a coffee, recharge while watching the kids

Tickets: Adults $18, kids 1–18 $25. It says 2-hour sessions, but they don’t seem very strict about overtime. (There’s also an annual pass valid at all locations — worth it if you go more than 5 times a year.)

Parking: plenty of spaces right at the entrance

Food: only a small bar inside — coffee, sandwiches, fruit, no fried food. Recommend bringing your own lunch box
