Japan handmade Onigiri in Sydney - Mogu Mogu

In Sydney, we didn’t know you actually can eat hand made Onigiri that makes you feel like you’re in Hokkaido! Didn’t expect passing by Sydney Place a few days ago, and we discovered this small Onigiri shop Mogu Mogu! Their Onigiri come in two types: the cheaper pre-made ones, and the pricier made-to-order ones. We passed by at 1 pm, the $5 small Onigiri in the fridge were all sold out! Luckily the four kinds of freshly grilled series were still available!

What we tried

Sukiyaki M9 Wagyu – Paired with sweet-salty sukiyaki broth, after blowtorch searing, upon entry it’s rich sauce aroma and the beef’s sweetness, the meat texture is very tender!

Aburi Salmon – Slightly seared salmon paired with warm Onigiri!

Grilled Unagi – Eel meat texture delicate and soft. And the sauce is just perfect, not sweet and not too salty!

Salmon & Roe – Salmon and fish roe both very fresh, kind of a feel of eating a mini seafood sashimi don rice!

We didn’t expect the small snacks that come with the set to be a bonus item! Their fried chicken is soft-tender and crispy! Seasoning also great paired with homemade sauce!

Mogu Mogu Address – Shop 09/180 George St, Sydney NSW 2000, Australia
