Circus Royale – Melbourne Circus

Circus Royale - Melbourne Circus

Circus Royale is back in Melbourne! Currently, there are shows on Friday night at 7:30, Saturday at 1 pm, 4 pm, and 7:30 pm, and Sunday at 11 am. On Sunday, there were quite a lot of people, almost full. The kids seemed quite happy watching; after all, they’ve never seen anything like this before.

The whole show lasted two hours, subtracting the opening and intermission, the actual performance time was just over an hour. Overall, it was not bad; after all, it’s a small theater, and the viewing experience was enjoyable for adults too. It’s worth recommending to check it out.

Show and Experience

The entire performance lasts about 1.5 hours, with a 15-minute break in between. The performance mainly consists of acrobatics, mostly high-altitude performances: aerial silks, swings, iron rings, tightrope walking, and magic shows, including the classic disappearing act.

There are also high-altitude balancing acts and motorcycle performances. The show is indeed very exciting! It garnered applause from the audience and also induced some gasps of surprise. During the intermission, there is interaction between “clowns” and the audience. The three gentlemen selected from our audience were particularly enthusiastic, and the young ladies were also very cooperative, which energised everyone!

Getting your tickets

Tickets can be booked on the official website of Circus Royale, and you can choose your seats. To redeem the voucher for children sent by the school, you need to call to reserve seats. The flyer says you can call after 9 am, but in reality, someone will answer after 10 am.

Additional tips

Suitable for children aged 7 and above to watch. Younger children might be scared at first and might have trouble sitting still.

The venue is temporary (a tent) and quite rudimentary. Despite the evening performance, it surprisingly got chilly after a daytime temperature of 38 degrees! The venue is ventilated, so it gets colder the longer you sit.

The venue is not huge, so you don’t need to buy seats too close to the front; even the back row provides a clear view.
