Central Gardens Playground

Central Gardens Playground

Two weeks ago we randomly found a park on Google Maps – the Central Gardens Playground. When we went there last time (that was a few years back though), it was still under construction so we couldn’t go in. Everything here is pretty new.

Central Gardens Playground reviews

The highlight is that huge rocket. Even as a mum, I found it pretty exciting. The whole playground is themed around space and planets.

The iconic red rocket slide is why everyone calls it “Rocket Park.” Next to it, there are rocking animals and balance beams, which are also very toddler-friendly.

The park is large with plenty of open lawn, dense shade from trees, great for photos and also perfect for riding bikes, with wide paths throughout. Highly recommended and really fun. It’s also very convenient, close to Glenferrie Road with lots of dining options nearby.

By 9am people are already firing up the BBQ area. The smell of BBQ mixed with fresh grass gives it that very Melbourne vibe!

Tall palm trees and old heritage trees line the park, and sunlight filters through the leaves like a natural filter—every photo looks beautiful.

On weekends, people just lie on the grass for hours.

Stroller walks, picnics, sunbathing—this is basically a patch of forest in the city. Perfect for doing nothing at all.
