Cairns Night Market Guide

The Cairns Night Markets offer a variety of trendy snacks that are worth trying. Cairns is truly a food desert! Ordinary things become popular in Cairns!

The night market in Cairns is located in the city centre, and it is very convenient to walk here from nearby hotels. Therefore, there are a lot of people and it is very lively.

Sunday4:30–10:30 pm
Monday4:30–10:30 pm
Tuesday4:30–10:30 pm

We just got back from Kuranda at the perfect time to visit the night market opening at 4:30 pm! We checked in at the entrance where they serve the famous crepes, and we chose the mixed fruits with just cream, no ice cream. The taste was incredibly similar to a crepe we had in Tokyo before – the cream was light, and the fruits were just right!

What night market sells?

You can shop like crazy at the night market. It seems that the various items here are cheaper than other places in Cairns. Here you can buy boomerangs, figurines, pendants, fridge magnets, bags, hats, and more to check out the market first!

Cairns Night Market Food Recommendations

IMM Thai Cafe – Thai cuisine

This is a very popular Thai restaurant. The prices are cheap, the food is tasty, the portions are huge, etc. It’s located right next to the night market, which is very convenient. You should try their lemon tea, milk tea, seafood fried rice, fried chicken wings, tom yum soup, and cucumber salad.

The seafood fried rice is pretty good, and the tom yum soup is not bad either. This place has a decent price-to-value ratio, and you might even have some leftovers to take home.

Crepe – Japanese crepes

This is also one of the most popular places at the Cairns Night Marekt. It’s so popular that people are waiting outside for at least 15 minutes before the door even opens. The taste is actually pretty good compared to other places in Cairns.

Chicken on the Stick – Korean fried skewers

This is also a must-try popular snack, but the actual appearance and taste are quite different from the samples shown online. The taste is okay, and we like the fried chicken skewers!

Churros Time

This churros stall is really delicious, we went there three times! The churros are freshly fried and look great in photos too.

Pho Viet Vietnamese Noodle Bar

This place is a 5-minute walk from Pho Street. The Pho here is average, but you must try the roast pork! It’s half-fat and half-lean with crispy skin, the fatty meat is not too greasy and is really delicious.
