In August, Sydney, Australia will enter the spring season, which is also a great time to enjoy the cherry blossoms. There will be an Auburn Cherry Blossom Festival in August every year. In addition to performances, there are food stalls, tourism information stalls and more for you to explore.

Auburn Botanic Gardens

Every year, August is the season of cherry blossoms. They also host the Auburn Botanic Gardens Cherry Blossom Festival. There will be many fun activities, which are very suitable for bringing children too! However, the admission fee will be around $11. We went to take pictures of cherry blossoms during the last weekend when all the cherry blossoms in the garden were in bloom!

If you just want to see cherry blossoms and don’t want to go too far and think that the botanical gardens have too few, you can go during the cherry blossom festival time when it won’t be too crowded.

The Blue Mountains Botanic Garden

This large public garden covers an area of 28 hectares and boasts a rich collection of exotic plants that bloom all year round. Of course, no nature park would be complete without some cherry blossom trees to add to the scenery! Here you can follow the footsteps of spring and come see the cherry blossoms.

The Blue Mountains Botanic Garden has 20 cherry blossom trees, which are bigger than those in other places. This is also a popular spot where people come here to take wedding photos!

Leura

Leura is a small town located about 98 kilometers from Sydney, near the Blue Mountains. It has been named one of the 30 most beautiful towns in Australia. Every year in early October, the entire town is filled with blooming cherry blossoms, with large and beautiful pink flowers covering the trees. The main street of the town, Leura Mall, is especially picturesque. This time of year is also the annual Leura Cherry Blossom Festival, which has been celebrated for over 30 years!

If you want to see a whole street of cherry blossoms, you should definitely visit Leura! No need to buy tickets, but there are more people during the holidays. There will also be the Leura Gardens Festival, where you can buy a pass to see 8 private gardens.

Nara Peace Park (Canberra)

In a blink of an eye, spring is coming to Canberra! Like Japan, Canberra has its own cherry blossom paradise!

The Nara Park is one of the top 5 cherry blossom viewing spots in 2019. Nara Park was established because Canberra and Nara are sister cities, and cherry blossoms were planted to create a Japanese atmosphere. The two parks are actually adjacent, with no obvious boundaries, so there is no need to distinguish between them.

Here you will find a Japanese-style garden with 24 cherry blossom trees and other Japanese plants!
