Best Blueberry Picking near Coffs Harbour

Boss Berries blueberry farm run by Frank and Juanita is one of the best bluberry picking spots near Coffs Harbour. Around 4.5–5h drive from Brisbane, about 1h from Coffs Harbour. A natural organic blueberry farm just 10 mins north of Dorrigo.

A friend of mine said if I ever head down NSW for a road trip, I should drop by the farm. So on the way back from Sydney, we actually turned into Dorrigo. The whole drive through the valley was honestly so beautiful.

The owners are super friendly and will tell you everything you need to know once you arrive. On picking days, they will take everyone to the best rows depending on ripeness and sweetness. Not just randomly picking, he actually shows you where the good ones are.

You can find their opening days and times on Facebook by searching Boss Berries – Dorrigo. Make sure to bring cash because there is basically no signal out there and card machines didn’t work on the day we visited.

Make sure to download offline maps before you go because reception is pretty much non-existent out there, but the road itself is easy to drive.

Supermarket blueberries are often sprayed. The ones here are not sprayed, and you can really taste the difference. Much more fragrant, naturally sweet, and that proper blueberry flavour you don’t really get from store-bought ones!

It’s around $50 for a full bucket, roughly 6kg, which is honestly very worth it. You can eat as much as you want while picking.

Nearby there are also rainforest parks that are good for short walks and small waterfalls. Dorrigo and Bellingen are nice stops along the way if you want to take a break. Signal is basically non-existent in this area so download your maps before you go.

Overall this area fits really well into a Coffs Harbour 2 day 1 night trip.
