Illuminate Adelaide is an annual grand winter event in Adelaide, South Australia. Since 2021, it has been showcasing a variety of light shows, art installations, music, and performance art for local residents and visitors every July!

Not only does it offer immersive experiences, but it’s also a perfect opportunity for taking Instagram-worthy photos. Both the Adelaide Botanic Garden and the Adelaide Zoo will be part of this event, incorporating interactive experiences with the city’s landscapes and iconic locations. Mirror Mirror

Tickets: Starting from $36
Dates: June 28 – July 30
Location: Victoria Square / Tarntanyangga

Starting on June 28, this month-long event will immerse visitors in a digital world using cutting-edge interactive technology. It’s suitable for all ages, and you can interact with the exhibits throughout the experience.

Resonate

Tickets: Starting from $40
Dates: June 29 – July 30
Location: Adelaide Botanic Garden

Resonate is a large-scale light show in the Adelaide Botanic Garden. Starting from the entrance at North Terrace, there are six new light and smoke installations along the nighttime pathway through the garden. It creates a new nocturnal experience using nature itself.

Tickets: Free
Dates: June 29 – July 30
Location: Rundle Park/Kadlitpina

This free party event in June may not be as stunning as the previously mentioned paid activities, but it’s perfect for a casual night out with family and friends. The entire setup is on a grassy lawn in the city area, with bonfires and DJs to enhance the atmosphere.

Light Creatures

Tickets: Starting from $27
Dates: June 29 – July 23
Location: Adelaide Zoo

One of the highly anticipated events of Illuminate Adelaide, Light Creatures takes place at the Adelaide Zoo. It offers an immersive outdoor adventure at night, where you can wander among fascinating illuminated creatures. The giant glowing animals are the highlights of this event. Tip: Adelaide Zoo members can avail a $4 discount on tickets.
