These are the best donuts in Perth. No competition. No arguments accepted! Back when Krispy Kreme first opened in Perth, we lined up and bought four big boxes just for the nostalgia. We went back a few more times for the memories, but eventually gave up because they were simply too sweet. For us, the standard for a good dessert is actually simple: not too sweet. Most desserts are not difficult to make taste good, but if they are overly sweet, they become hard to enjoy.
Mimochi – Best Mochi Donuts in Perth
This time we finally tried Mimochi, which our sister had been recommending for a long time. It has now moved to Victoria Park. After the first bite we were hooked. Now whenever we pass by, we buy a box, and sometimes we even make a detour just to get some.
The highest compliment is that something tastes good but is not too sweet. Mimochi’s dough is not the traditional dense donut style. It has a slightly mochi-like texture that makes it soft and chewy. Flavour options range from classic dark chocolate, white chocolate, milk chocolate and sugar glaze to more unique flavours like bubblegum, berry and Earl Grey. There are around a dozen flavours in total.
Our personal favourite is still dark chocolate. We often buy several at once. If we do not finish them on the same day, we heat them in the air fryer the next morning. The chocolate coating becomes slightly crispy and sweet after heating, which is also very good.
If you are not a fan of the traditional donut that is sweet from the dough all the way to the glaze, you should definitely try Mimochi. It may not look fancy, but it is genuinely delicious.
All their donuts have a chewy, slightly mochi-like texture, which makes them very satisfying to eat. Even the next day they still taste great.
How much is their Mochi Donuts
– 1 pack $4.50
– 6 pack $22
– 12 pack $40
– An extra $1–2 applies if you need a box.
What you should try
– Plain – The base flavour that really shows off the texture.
– Original Sugar – A must order. We always get at least two.
– Biscoff – Highly recommended.
– Black Choco – Decent but nothing particularly special.
They also offer donut bites now, but they are only available after 5pm on Fridays and weekends.
For people who enjoy sweeter flavours
– White Choco Macadamia
– Thai Milk Tea
– Matcha Green Tea
– Cookies and Cream
– Earl Grey Glazed – We love Earl Grey, but this one is quite sweet.
Instead, you can get coffee from the gelato shop on the left, which uses Fiori beans and is excellent. Having our favourite donuts next to our favourite coffee is perfect.
To avoid the long weekend queues, you can order online and choose store pickup. When you arrive, the staff are usually friendly and happy to swap flavours if you want to change them. You can walk straight past the line and pick up your donuts.
Do not arrive too late, as they sometimes sell out early and close before the scheduled time.
