Verdant Park Playground

Verdant Park Playground

Doncaster Verdant Park Playground came up on the map, just a few hundred meters away there was another playground that caught our attention on Google Maps — mainly because of that giant slide image. It looked way too cool to skip, so we went for it.

Doncaster Verdant Park Playground is located in Doncaster, it’s actually a relatively small neighbourhood park, tucked inside a new estate. But the slide setup is genuinely impressive and very photogenic. Compared to Ruffey Lake Park, it feels quieter and more low-key, but the play equipment here is more adventurous.

Verdant Park Playground reviews

Verdant Park Playground looks fairly new, so everything feels clean and well maintained.

It’s clearly designed more for kids aged around 5–6 and up. My daughter was still too small for most of it and basically had to watch from below while her dad carried her up the structure. From the ground, she was completely absorbed, watching everything with wide-eyed excitement, not blinking once.

The playground also has swings, a flying fox, and seesaw-style equipment. Overall, it suits older kids much better, especially those confident with climbing and heights.

Not huge in size, but there are a few BBQ areas (around 3–4), though the space itself can’t really handle large crowds. Best for small gatherings, maybe 4–5 families at most.

Parking is a bit tricky since it’s inside a residential estate, so you’re basically relying on street parking if you’re lucky.

Just a short 150m walk away, there’s also a tiny secondary playground nearby, which is much better suited for younger kids. It’s worth combining both spots for a relaxed picnic-style outing with snacks and a break in between.

A friend had been telling me about this place for a week before we finally went, and we walked out almost two hours later having spent most of it in a vitamin shop. That’s not something I expected to say.
