Thomas Street South Reserve Playground is a hidden gem free playground we stumbled across and it is actually so beautiful our kids loved it so much they played for two hours before finally agreeing to leave.
Recently we have been exploring more around the south side and honestly this Thomas Street playground is one I strongly recommend the only downside is that it gets busy because it is just too fun otherwise there is really nothing to complain about
All the classic equipment is here swings sandpit trampoline climbing areas but what really stands out is how new and creative everything feels there are so many unique features like a DJ station that can connect to your phone and play music kids are super curious about it there are also water play areas spinning elements rail tracks and even a giant rocking ship
The park has everything you need BBQ facilities toilets free parking loads of picnic tables and it is dog friendly on leash there is even a DJ setup which I have never seen at a playground before very trendy and fun the big and small castle structures have become the signature of this popular spot

This playground is honestly packed with things to do as a kid it would feel like heaven there is just so much to explore and it suits all age groups.
The design is full of thoughtful details animal themes farm style decorations and hidden alphabet elements scattered throughout which makes it fun for kids to explore. The three level giant castle slide is absolutely stunning even better in real life each level has different features and kids are constantly busy exploring every corner. There is also a mini version of the castle slide for younger kids even toddlers can enjoy it our little one who cannot walk yet still had fun without being scared.
Every age group is well catered for the big castle is ideal for kids 4 and above but even younger kids can try the smaller castle is perfect for toddlers and there are also small slides suitable for babies around 1 year old.
There is a huge open grass area nearby plus bike paths and it is also very close to Hampton Beach although after playing here you probably will not have the energy to go to the beach.
The flying fox has both a standing and seated option kids were screaming with excitement going back and forth. The water play area includes ground fountains that kids can control so definitely bring a change of clothes.
The sandpit is very clean and fine with a water pump system that lets you channel water into wooden tracks and play tables.
There is a huge nest swing that is quite thrilling I was honestly a bit nervous watching three big kids standing on it while swinging and spinning.
The music area is one of my favorites with a giant harp style instrument step pads that make sounds and a fully functional DJ console where kids can play built in tracks loop beats adjust volume and even connect their phone to play their own music.
You can bring your dog and relax on the massive lawn nearby many people fly kites picnic or host birthday parties there are also plenty of picnic tables and BBQ spots.
There are bike paths and even a small dirt ramp where kids can ride up and jump which is super fun
