Mountview Alpaca Farm - Alpaca Farm near Gold Coast

Where to go for the weekend? Of course, embrace nature! The alpaca farm is perfect for a picnic with family! If you want to walk the little alpaca, you can directly book on the official website. Each little alpaca has its own name, and you can pre-book your exclusive alpaca on the official website.

The experience at Mountview Alpaca Farm

This lovely alpaca farm is near the Gold Coast, just over an hour’s drive from Brisbane. It’s quite fun; the alpacas are very gentle, and one adult can lead an alpaca without the need for reservations. Our little kids were free. For a total of $49, two adults can each take an alpaca to stroll in the grass for half an hour, including a bag of feed.

Even if we, as two adults, only want one alpaca, it’s the same price.

Meeting your Alpaca

There are quite a few alpacas, and you can only touch their necks. The caretakers will briefly explain how to lead them and take photos. Kids seem to really enjoy playing with them.

There’s a beautiful lake there where kids of all sizes play in the water. Some families have reserved alpaca parties to celebrate birthdays, and you can also book alpaca weddings and various events.

There’s a restaurant nearby that sells really bad pizza, almost like frozen ones. The fries are okay, and there’s a lot of wine because there’s a vineyard and winery nearby. Many people are wine tasting there. Ice cream is also a favourite among kids. Actually, there’s a small town nearby with eateries. Next time, we might explore the nearby food options!

Fees and bookings

Walking the invincible cute little alpaca cost (including one feed):

  • 15 mins $23
  • 30 mins $38
  • 60 mins $69

After booking, you can go to the nearby store to register with the staff, and then you can go to the alpaca area to walk your little alpaca. Before that, the staff will explain how to walk, and it might be a bit smelly here, so hurry up and take your little alpaca to the big lawn for a walk.

Additional information and tips

There is also a restaurant, winery, and dragon fruit orchard nearby. The restaurant also provides a picnic basket, perfect for a relaxing weekend day trip.
