Best Things to do in Phillip Island with kids

We just returned from Phillip Island and wanted to share a concise guide for those planning to visit, especially those with little ones. While a day trip is enjoyable, we recommend a two-day stay to fully explore the island.

Best Things to do in Phillip Island with kids

Phillip Island Chocolate Factory

Upon purchasing tickets, each person receives complimentary chocolate.

Tour the chocolate-making process. Learn about chocolate production methods. Explore scenes created with chocolate. Participate in chocolate-making activities.

Wait for the chocolate to be ready and taste the freshly made treats (refer to images 56). Kids love the entire process. Before leaving, enjoy some gaming fun, and you can exchange the winnings for more chocolate.

Churchill Island Heritage Farm

Adjacent to the chocolate factory, spend the entire afternoon at Churchill Farm with abundant activities.

The farm, near the beautiful coastline, offers a plethora of activities. Even the entrance gaming area kept us entertained for a long time.

Inside the farm, experience milking cows, witness sheep shearing, and interact with the animals. Watching the sheepdog herding the flock is fascinating. Kids especially enjoy the cow-milking experience. For first-timers, it’s a mix of curiosity and hesitation.

Maru Koala and Animal Park

Tickets cost $30 (free for children under four) and include a complimentary feed for close encounters with kangaroos and feeding them. Additionally, you can purchase separate tickets for a photo session with koalas at $35 per person or $69 for two. The guide will provide instructions and assistance.

There’s also a sheep shearing show, but as we arrived in the afternoon, it had already concluded.

The Nobbies View Point

No need for tickets. This observation point is located at the southwestern tip of Phillip Island, close to the Penguin Parade venue. It’s recommended to visit it before the penguin nesting performance. The sea is incredibly blue, with numerous seagulls around. Spending some time here is sure to lift your spirits—we really enjoyed it! Highly recommended.

Penguin Parade

Depart at around 5:30 PM to witness the arrival of the penguins around 6:30 PM to 7:00 PM.

It’s advisable to arrive early for a good viewing spot due to the strong winds by the beach. If you arrive later, you can still catch a glimpse from the boardwalk as the penguins make their way home.

The little penguins play and wait for their friends before collectively heading home. It’s lovely to see them waddle back, making it worth enduring the chilly sea breeze.
