January to March is actually a great time to admire sunflowers in Queensland! There are many flower fields from Brisbane to the Gold Coast and even Sydney, all of which are stunning and spectacular. You can start your journey from Brisbane and drive to the following places to find sunflowers in Cambooya, Nobby, Toowoomba, Warwick and Allora.

Where to see Sunflower Fields near Brisbane

Kallbar Sunflower

The location is over an hour’s drive west of Brisbane. You can search for the Kalbar Sunflower Festival online. It takes place annually in the months of March and April. The tickets are very affordable, and it features a massive sunflower plantation.

It’s really spectacular to see over a million sunflowers blooming towards you. Kallbar Sunflower is located at the junction of Brisbane and the Gold Coast, the sunflower field covers a total of 8 acres.

The carnival offers not only sunflowers but also various food options, photography and painting classes, as well as sunflower-themed souvenirs and merchandise. There is even a helicopter ride available for an aerial view of the vast sunflower fields.

You can also pick your favourite sunflowers in the field $2 per sunflower.

Norwell Sunflower

You don’t have to go too far. There is a vast flower field at the junction of Brisbane and the Gold Coast. It’s like a lovely punctuation mark for the end of summer. We discovered this private farm through the news! If you go at noon, remember to apply sunscreen!

It’s a drive of over two hours west of Brisbane, and while you’re driving on the highway, you’ll suddenly come across this sunflower field. There are hardly any people around, so you can freely take photos. Along the way, you’ll also see sorghum fields, and the vast expanse of the highway is perfect for photography.

Sonnschein Sunflowers And Fruit

The admission ticket is $15 per person, and you can pick 8 sunflowers! Remember to bring cash and scissors! There are very few people, making it a great place for photography.
