Jells Park Playscape

A new go-to spot for kids — the renovated playground at Jells Park.

This place has honestly become one of my favorite spots to take the kids. First of all, the space is HUGE.

Jells Park Playscape Reviews

My eldest has been going through a bit of a rebellious phase lately. This morning, we cancelled his playdate with his friend CC over a fried egg, and then agreed to take him out… also because of another fried egg. So in the end, we chose this newly upgraded playground.

It used to be the playground at Yabbie Hill Park, so if you’re navigating, enter that name. Supposedly it cost $3 million to renovate. After visiting, it is indeed quite big with plenty of facilities, but honestly… not sure it looks like $3 million.

My eldest had an amazing time and, as usual, didn’t want to go home. It got quite sunny and hot in the afternoon, and since we left in a rush, I didn’t bring a hat, sunscreen, or even sand shoes and toys. So he could only watch other kids playing in the sandpit. Having a slightly germ-conscious mum… he’s a bit pitiful sometimes. I promised him we’ll come better prepared next time (though not sure if we’ll get another chance to play with sand before winter…). He nodded a little disappointed.

Overall, it’s a really great new spot for kids. It’s close to home too, so we’ll definitely be coming back often. Finally got around to writing about this park we’ve been to countless times.

It’s only about a 10-minute drive from Glen Waverley Shopping Centre.

The open grass area is massive — kids can run freely without worrying about crowds. Even on weekends, it doesn’t feel packed. Super nice for a stroller walk too.

What I love most is the playground itself. It’s suitable for kids of different ages, and everyone can have a great time. The facilities are well maintained, clean, and safe.

The lakeside path is perfect for kids learning to ride bikes. Parents can stroll with the pram around the lake, watch ducks and swans — kids can stay entertained just watching them for ages.

There’s also a café nearby, and toilets are convenient and fairly clean.
