Pick Your Own Sunflowers

Located near Ballarat, between Yendon and Dunnstown, it’s approximately a 1-hour drive from Melbourne. After enjoying the sunflowers, you can also explore the nearby gold rush town. Here, you can take photos in the sunflower fields and pick your own flowers. The entry fee is $5, and each sunflower costs $2 to pick. Children under 5 enter for free and dogs are allowed on a leash. Remember to make a reservation in advance.

Sault Restaurant

Sault Restaurant is not only a dining establishment but also has a large sunflower field. If you make a dining reservation, you can enter the field for free; otherwise, there is a $5 admission fee. Please note that picking sunflowers is not allowed here; it’s for viewing purposes only.

Greendale Sunflower Farm

Expected to open at the end of February or early March, Greendale Sunflower Farm is located about 65 kilometres northwest of Melbourne’s city centre. It features vast sunflower fields where you can pick fresh flowers. Last year, the admission fee was $5, and each picked sunflower cost $2. You can bring your own scissors or rent them for $5. Opening hours: Thursday and Friday: 11 am – 5 pm Saturday: 10 am – 6 pm Sunday: 10 am – 5 pm

Eden Farm Wellness

Run by a couple with an inspiring story, Eden Farm Wellness offers farm experiences where you can interact closely with adorable animals such as cows, rabbits, chicks, and sheepdogs. You can even participate in hand-milking cows. The farm also boasts a large sunflower field, which started blooming last weekend and will continue for some time.

While returning from Daylesford to Melbourne, you may notice a small roadside sign saying “sunflower 1km.” You just need to follow the sign and you will arrive at this sunflower field that isn;t even marked on Google. It isn’t the famous “Pick Your Own Sunflowers” field either!

The sunflowers grown here are not very tall; they are meant for viewing rather than picking. Unlike the towering sunflowers that surpass human height, these flowers are not particularly large. They are small and cute, which adds to their charm.

The admission fee for one person is $5, and there may be an additional charge if you want to pick the flowers.
