Sydney Easter Show Complete Guide 2024

It’s Easter Show time again! We spent the weekend fulfilling this year’s wishes with the kids. We went this weekend, and there were very few people, hardly any queues. Probably because the students haven’t started their holidays yet. Also, it’s Sunday, and the kids have school the next day!

What we think

Upon entering the park, head straight to the animal walk and grab a map for stamping. Our order is: sheep, chickens, pigs, cows then horses! Around 9:45 am, queue up to pet the baby chicks, and before 11:00 am, queue up to pet the piglets. This way, you can save a lot of time waiting in line! The longest line is usually for feeding the lambs, costing $2 for a portion of feed.

The adjacent WWS Fresh Food Discovery area is also enjoyable. The beef pie there is delicious!

After this loop, you can grab some lunch if you’re lucky enough to catch a street parade.

After that, we headed to the Egg Hunting area for a photo op, located near the Cathy Freeman Playground. It costs eight ride coupons for one child to enter.

Then, we went to the lawn area by the fire trucks where kids could see the fire engines and collect some free goodies like red fire helmets, Paw Patrol-themed activity books, shovels, etc.

In the afternoon and evening, it’s mainly about enjoying rides, watching performances in the pavilions, and not missing the fireworks show.

For older kids, there’s an area to see cats, dogs, and reptiles, where there are also some performances.

If you missed out on the unlimited ride wristbands on the first day, there’s a 2-for-1 offer on the last day, which is essentially half-price, but it’s only available until 4 pm.

What caught the kids’ attention more than usual this year:

  • Showbags unexpectedly had Kuromi.
  • In the game booths, there were Kuromi dolls as prizes, and they were colorful.
  • The Egg Hunt area was like heaven for kids, decorated beautifully with dolls. After filling a basket with eggs, they could exchange them for a packet of candies from the staff.
  • In the petting zoo area, you could interact with the sheep by buying a cup of feed. They were very gentle and kid-friendly, not competing for food.

Getting the tickets online is cheaper

Near the entrance close to the train station, there’s a box office where you can buy tickets on-site for $160 (2 adults, 2 children). The staff there are very kind. They advised us not to buy directly but to open the website on our phone, which was $130, and guided us step by step until we successfully purchased the tickets!

Downloading the Easter Show Fun Pass app makes things easier

Make sure you download the Easter Show Fun Pass app, which not only allows you to top up ride credits but also provides a super handy map! I’ve marked all the points mentioned in the video in the comments below. It also includes specific times for each activity and performance.
