Eastwood that new park opened today. Somerville Park I went this afternoon and walked around a bit.
Parking situation the park itself has very few spots, not many, so when it’s full you may need to go to Pearl Avenue or Davis Avenue to park, we parked on Davis, still okay to find a spot there!

Inside Somerville Park, the facilities are quite complete, the climbing frame is quite big, kids should really like it, also has a half basketball court, half a netball court, that kind of barbecue grill pavilion is also there, and a toilet that is unisex!
Behind the park there is a big football field, it’s just very open and spacious, that kind of grass where you can kick a ball, walk a dog, have a picnic, all okay, feels more fun than the front part.
Then walking to the end of Davis Avenue there is a Terrys Creek Walk, I didn’t walk it but looked for a moment, it said round trip 3 kilometres, next time I’ll bring the kids and go!
The opening ceremony had free coffee, ice cream, sausages and those things but the queue was lined up very long, I stood there a while then left, anyway I don’t really like squeezing into that kind of excitement.
Weekend we’ll definitely bring the kids to come out and play!
