This place seems to be quite famous for its matcha, so we arranged to come here with a friend.
The café has a cozy atmosphere, and both the indoor and outdoor areas are quite spacious. The staff told us that the outdoor seating is only open on weekends, so when we visited on a weekday, we could only sit inside. Still, looking out through the window, the outdoor area looked really beautiful. Even the hanging lights were shaped like canelés, which was super cute.

Both cakes were sponge cakes paired with rich matcha cream, which surprisingly made them feel very light.
The Silent Garden had an elegant presentation, and the cake itself was black sesame flavoured, giving it lots of layers of flavour. The cream topping on the Mont Blanc was quite bitter, while the cake underneath had a yuzu flavour that tasted incredibly refreshing. We couldn’t help but keep taking bite after bite 🍽️.
Both my friend and I really enjoyed these two cakes and would definitely recommend them.
We also ordered the genmaicha latte and the matcha latte.
Since we had skipped lunch, we also ordered two onigiri . The staff recommended the flavours for us. Maybe because we had such a mixed meal, we felt the flavours didn’t stand out enough. On their own, they would probably be quite tasty.
Just before leaving, we realised that another famous cake shop, Small Cake Place, is right across the road. We’ll have to come back next time!
