From Melbourne, drive just a little over 1 hour — Mornington Peninsula Shire is really not that far. Honestly, this kind of distance for a weekend escape is just perfect
No need to take leave, no need to book flights, just that kind of Friday night “say go and just go”.
Before I went, I didn’t think one place could have hot springs, the sea, wineries, and even strawberries at the same time
Just that kind of place where you wonder how everything you want is all here in one go

1. Peninsula Hot Springs (must do in Mornington Peninsula)
Peninsula Hot Springs is very famous in Victoria, all around is trees. Outdoor soaking pools — if the weather is good, you can look straight up at the stars
(If the weather is not good, you look at clouds, also quite healing).
Just you really need to book in advance.
Best time to go – Morning or early evening, people will be a bit less.

2. Cape Schanck lighthouse + cliff walk
That side has lighthouse and coastal walking trail. Wind can be strong!
But stand there and look at the sea, it’s just unreal. Like you are looking at someone else’s photo, but you are actually standing there.

3. Sorrento seaside town
Sorrento is a small town. Very European feeling, with cafés and antique shops.
The pier you can feed seagulls or sit on a boat and go out to see dolphins.
Anyway just is a very suitable place to space out, no need to do anything, just walk around and it’s already nice.
4. Strawberry farm (seasonal: November to April)
Strawberry farm is seasonal. Only November to April, you can pick yourself.
Fresh strawberry just is different, just is sweeter!
And their café has strawberry sundae (I ate two, no regret).
5. Red Hill wineries
Last is Red Hill winery area. For those who don’t drink alcohol can also go. The whole place has a very English countryside feeling
Vineyards you can casually walk around.
