MINISO FRIENDS has opened in Australia! Right in Melbourne Central, in the former Monopoly store spot — and it’s honestly so fun to browse!
The whole store feels like a mini theme park. It’s not just shopping, it feels like walking through a huge IP-themed experience!
What caught my attention this time was the YOYO × Toy Story 5 collaboration and themed displays.
From the “Growing Up With You” blind box series, to the Toy Story childhood-bond plush toys, all the way to the super eye-catching YOYO themed installation in the Central atrium!
Toy Story fans are going to go crazy over this. Woody, Buzz Lightyear, and Little Green Men have all been turned into super cute YOYO versions — childhood memories fully unlocked!
Besides the Toy Story collab, there are also tons of popular IPs like Sanrio and Chiikawa. If you’re into collecting merch or blind boxes, definitely give yourself time to slowly explore.
I picked up two blind boxes and actually got what I wanted.
Also received a Melbourne-exclusive fridge magnet — there are three designs: Flinders Street, Melbourne tram, and the Shot Tower. Honestly they’re pretty cute.
The shopfront is great for photos.
Upstairs near the big clock there’s a giant plush display. Inside, literally any plush or figure makes a cute photo prop.
