Things to do at Jervis Bay

Hyams Beach

The whitest beach in New South Wales. As an iconic landmark, it attracts a large number of visitors. Take a leisurely stroll or rent a kayak for an ocean adventure!

Whale Watching and Dancing with Dolphins

Jervis Bay Marine Park nurtures various forms of marine life, from seals to fairy penguins and an impressive number of dolphins. You can spot wild animals throughout the water!

Whale watching is from June to November each year, humpback whales migrate along the Australian east coast. If you’re lucky, you may witness their breaches or even encounter blue whales.

You can also join Dive Jervis for snorkelling or diving trips and swim with the seals and whales!

Marvel at the Stunning Blue Bioluminescence

At night, under the serene sky, thousands of bioluminescent plankton emit a blue glow, illuminating the coastline.

The occurrence of bioluminescence is possible at any time of the year, but it is more common in spring and summer as the water temperature rises.

It’s worth noting that predicting this magical phenomenon is challenging. If you spot red algae during the day, there’s a higher chance of witnessing the blue bioluminescence at night.

Hiking

White Sands Walk and Eucalyptus Forest Trail: This 2.5-kilometre trail starts from the Greenfield Beach picnic area, passing through the white sandy beaches and coastal forests of Jervis Bay.

Take a break for a swim, spot birds and dolphins, or extend your walk to Hyams Beach.

Visit Local Breweries

After a day at the beach, indulge in some refreshing beers. If you’re up for fruity flavours, the “Mountain Ghost” at Jervis Bay Brewing Co. won’t disappoint!
