western australia waterfalls

The world is vast, and there are many wonders scattered in every corner waiting for everyone to discover! In addition to architectural wonders, unique giant rocks, tropical rain forests, and historical ancient cities, do you also think of the spectacular waterfalls pouring down?

In addition to the waterfalls that flow straight down from high places, there are actually many unique natural waterfalls in the world that are worth a visit. One of them is in fact located in the Western Australia!

The most beautiful waterfalls in Western Australia

Horizontal Falls

Located in the Kimberley region of northern Western Australia, some call it “one of the greatest natural wonders in the world.” This waterfall is not ordinary, it is the result of rapidly moving tidal currents – a large amount of water squeezes through narrow cliff passages, creating a unique lateral waterfall effect. You can only enjoy it from a sightseeing plane or experience it up close by taking a cruise.

King George Falls

Located in the Durack region in the north, it is the farthest place on this list. This 100-meter double waterfall is one of the most shocking wonders in Western Australia.

Joffre Falls

Located in the famous Karijini National Park in Western Australia, it is nearly 50 meters high and is known for its high saturation contrast of rock, vegetation, and water. It is very magnificent.

Quinninup Falls

Located in the Margaret River area, this 10-meter waterfall faces the sea and flows towards the beach inside the national park. If you want to get here successfully, it is best to search for Moses Rock Road on the map.

Beedelup Falls

Located in the Greater Beedelup National Park near Pemberton, it is surrounded by lush forests and a series of small waterfalls.

Mitchell Falls

It is an extremely beautiful cascading waterfall located in Kununurra, in the northwestern Kimberley region, and is one of the most photographed locations in the northwest. One thing to note is to never swim in the pool at the bottom of the waterfall, as crocodiles may be present there.

Fortescue Falls

Located in Karijini National Park, the waterfall pours down about 20 meters from the rocky terraces, forming a small pool. The unique terraced shape and the clear water pool around it are a perfect match!
