A friend kept telling us about the new Flip Out up north, finally made it over to see what the fuss was about.
Is it worth the trip
Yes, it’s a proper big one. Flip Out Elizabeth opened 14 September this year inside the old Holden factory on Phillip Highway, Elizabeth South, and it’s a lot more than just trampolines, climbing walls, a parkour course, soft play, slides, ninja courses and a multi level electric go kart track all under the one roof. Trading hours are 9am to 6pm Monday to Thursday and Sunday, 9am to 7pm Friday, 9am to 8pm Saturday.
What two hours actually cost us
Two of us did two hours for $45, socks were $4 a pair on top if you don’t bring your own. The junior go karts were a separate charge, $30 for a 15 minute session, worth it as its own little add on rather than something you need to do.
The climbing wall
A proper robot-themed wall running the full height of the building, different sections at different difficulty, some bright primary colours, some more technical grips up the top. There’s a timer built into the wall too so you can see how fast you got up. Staff keep an eye on it and you wait to be assisted rather than just jumping on.
The soft play and slide area
This is where the littler kids disappear for ages. Neon lit structure, tunnels, nets, a multi lane slide with a few different coloured tracks so siblings can race down side by side. Bright, loud, exactly what you’d want from an indoor play structure built for this age group.
The go kart track
Separate from the main play area, a proper multi level track with coloured barriers and a raised section that loops back over itself. Looked like serious fun for the older kids and the adults who tagged along just for this bit.

Good for toddlers too, not just big kids
Someone asked us if it’s any good for a 3 and a half year old, and yes, there’s plenty at that age can do, the basic trampoline area and the slide castle are both fine for younger kids, they just won’t be doing the climbing wall or ninja course yet. The whole place is built so different ages can all find something, whether you’re there for an hour, a birthday party, or planning to stay the whole afternoon.
What else is in there
A dedicated toddler area for the really little ones, party rooms if you’re booking a birthday, and a cafe for food and coffee if the adults need a sit down while the kids keep going.
Going in the school holidays
Being brand new, expect it to be busy over the break, so go early in the day if you can. The SA spring school holidays run 26 September to 11 October this year. For more wet weather options have a look through our indoor play centre list.
