Facebook wouldn’t stop showing me this place, every single day for weeks. Figured Brisbane gets boring enough on a weekend that we may as well give it a go.
Has to be booked online ahead of time. Two options, Group Tour or Personal Tour. Group is what we did, $20 a person booked ahead, you get folded in with other families and a guide takes everyone round together. Personal Tour costs more, basically the private version if you want the guide to yourself.
Group worked fine for us. An hour of patting sheep, rabbits, guinea pigs is about the ceiling for how long a small kid stays interested anyway, and being in a group meant we weren’t stuck making small talk with the guide the whole time.
The animals
Horses, sheep, donkeys, alpacas, guinea pigs, rabbits, pigs, chickens, turkeys, goats. Little kids get a free sit on one of the mini horses, no extra charge, our one took a photo of our kid up there looking thoroughly unimpressed about it. Actual horse riding is a separate paid add-on if you want more than the free pony sit.
Staff were properly friendly the whole way through, genuinely seemed to like the animals rather than just going through the motions.
Our kid wasn’t into it
Tried to get him to pat one of the rabbits, got a full look of disgust and a firm no, didn’t push it, let him just watch instead. Got a decent photo out of the refusal at least. Still came away saying he had fun overall, so the sulking didn’t last.

Practical stuff
Mosquitoes are a problem, wear long pants and proper shoes, not sandals. There’s a playground on site and a small cafe for snacks, but with that many picnic tables scattered around it’s genuinely easier to bring your own food and just sit wherever. Hot day, everyone’s face was red by the time we left, so hats, sunscreen and cold water are non-negotiable, especially in summer.
Address is 1100 Winn Road, Mount Samson, about 30 to 40 minutes northwest of the Brisbane CBD. Closed Sundays, so don’t plan around that day.
There’s a small deer park and the Samford township nearby too, easy to turn it into a full day if you’ve got the time.
More Queensland day trips under our QLD school holidays 2026 page, or our review of Bim’bimba Park Playground if you’re after more hands-on, outdoor kid stuff in the area.
