Didn’t even know this was there until a workmate mentioned it. It’s in the basement under the Meriton on George Street, same building as the food court with Oedenbowl and Mappen, took the lift down and walked straight into it.
What’s actually in there
Fresh veg and fruit near the entrance, then a full wall of instant noodles that took me a minute to actually scan properly, there’s that many. Snacks, rice cakes, frozen and instant meals further back, drinks fridge along one wall. The kimchi section stopped me longest, more varieties and pack sizes than I was expecting from a supermarket this size.
There’s a whole K-pop corner too, albums stacked up, photocards, assorted merch. Grabbed a couple of photocards for a friend who’s deep into one of the groups, no idea if I overpaid, she was thrilled regardless.
There’s a juice bar near the entrance, free mango juice samples the day I went, small cups but a nice surprise walking in.
Near the hot food counter there’s also a stall selling Korean fried chicken bread, sarada I think it was called, chicken, shrimp and cheese versions, around $7 each. Didn’t try it, but I noticed the queue for it was longer than anywhere else in the store.
Filled two baskets on one trip, groceries, snacks, a couple of drinks, came to $108 at checkout. Felt like a lot for the money once I actually loaded it all into bags.
Hours are genuinely unclear
Google says 10am to 10pm. The sign inside the store says 8.30am to 9pm. Two different answers, no way to tell which is right from outside. Safest bet is to turn up somewhere between 10am and 9pm so you’re covered either way.
Grabbing food there
There’s a hot food counter too, tteokbokki, fish cake skewers, fried chicken, that kind of thing, plus a small eat-in area. Worth knowing the food stalls and the supermarket checkout are separate payment points, so buying snacks and a hot meal meant two transactions and walking back and forth to find a table.
Prices at the counter: fish cake was $4 for one, $7 for two. Spicy tteokbokki was $8.90, the creamy spicy version $9.90. Got one tteokbokki and one fish cake, then grabbed a tub of pork hock from the fridge section separately for protein.
Fish cake was decent, the broth especially, not too salty, good enough that I used it to warm the pork hock instead of microwaving it. The tteokbokki sauce options were soy or garlic, but honestly the rice cakes tasted better dipped in the spicy sauce on its own, or even plain. Chewier than I’m used to, properly had to work through each piece, thirty or forty chews a cake. Everything had also gone lukewarm faster than expected, not sure if that’s just how it’s served or if it wasn’t that hot to begin with. There was a Dubai chocolate dessert in the fridge section I almost grabbed, checked the calorie count out of habit, nearly 1000 calories for one, put it back.
Service at the hot food counter wasn’t great on the day I ordered, got a flat “wait” with no eye contact while the staff member went to find someone else to serve me. Not the warmest welcome, didn’t put me off going back though.

Worth it
Good for a walk-through if you’re already in the city, decent for stocking up on pantry basics, probably not worth a special trip just to eat there. Location is LG, 537/551 George Street, Sydney, right under the Meriton near Town Hall.
