Teddi Lab Concept Store, Westfield Sydney – What It’s Actually Like Inside

Teddi Lab Concept Store, Westfield Sydney – What It's Actually Like Inside

A friend had been telling me about this place for a week before we finally went, and we walked out almost two hours later having spent most of it in a vitamin shop. That’s not something I expected to say. Teddi Lab by Unichi opened its first-ever concept store this winter on Level 2 of Westfield Sydney, tucked near Hype DC and roughly opposite Swarovski, and it does not look anything like a supplement aisle. There’s a wall of gummy bears piled up like a small mountain right as you walk in, and a full-length mirror set up next to a giant bear specifically so people can take the photo.

Unichi is actually a Sydney brand, founded here in 2015, and Teddi Lab is their gummy vitamin range. The kind of thing you’d normally walk past in a pharmacy without a second glance. In store form, with everything out for tasting, it’s a different experience entirely.

What We Tried at the Tasting Counter

We tried almost the full range before buying anything. The turmeric one was the surprise for me, I was expecting that sharp, slightly medicinal ginger note turmeric supplements usually have, and there wasn’t any of it, just a fairly ordinary fruit gummy. The magnesium one had a light citrus flavour and was fine, nothing dramatic either way. The hair gummy seemed to be the one getting the most attention from other shoppers while we were there, and it’s the one that comes up most when you search the brand online.

If you’re already taking other supplements or medication, or buying for a child, it’s worth running any new gummy vitamin past a GP or pharmacist first. Zero added sugar doesn’t mean zero active ingredients, and “it tastes like a lolly” is exactly the reason to be a bit careful with who has access to the bottle at home.

The Bear Jewellery and Photo Spots

Past the tasting counter is the jewellery section, bear-shaped rings and necklaces from what they’re calling the Chi Collection. There’s a Sydney-exclusive purple design, Jacaranda, done with Joachim Roncin, who worked on the Paris 2024 Olympics branding. My friend and I split the cost of six gummy bottles between us to hit the gift threshold that was running that week, and each walked out with a matching ring. Worth checking what’s currently on offer before you go, because those thresholds and gifts change and the run we caught isn’t necessarily still on.

The rest of the store is built for photos, which is fairly obviously the point. A “peek-in” viewer built into one wall, a chessboard-style bear game board near the back, and the bear mountain at the entrance that everyone was queuing for by the time we left. We also picked up a small bear hair clip for free just for posting a photo of the store, which felt like a nice touch rather than a hard sell.

The Grand Opening Deals Have Ended

The Grand Opening period ran from 20 to 28 June and had the sharpest pricing, an extra discount on top of member pricing, a free gift bundle for the first 100 purchases each day, and the tiered gifts for buying three or six bottles. That window has closed now, so if you’re planning a visit expecting exactly what we got, check their Instagram first, the offers seem to rotate.

Where It Fits Into a School Holiday Day Out

There’s no play area and nothing hands-on for younger kids, so it’s not really a destination in its own right for a family day out. Where it does work is as a stop if you’re already in the city during the school holidays with older kids or teens who’ll appreciate the photo spots, on the way to or from somewhere else. If you’re mapping out a Sydney CBD day, our list of things to do with kids has other stops nearby, and it’s worth checking the NSW school holiday dates before you go, since Westfield gets a lot busier once term ends.
