Once you become a parent, the weekends basically become a quest to find great places where they can run free and play.
So this weekend, we ended up at Lyne Park. If you happen to be in Sydney, don’t just hit up the typical popular places. Take a slight detour and visit calmer, lovely areas such as Lyne Park instead.
People often praise Watsons Bay—and yes, it’s just a short drive from here, so you can conveniently visit both. But honestly, if you’ve got kids, Lyne Park always wins.
Lyne Park Playground reviews
Right inside the gate, you can spot a seaplane base. The kids got excited seeing the planes take off and touch down—an entirely new experience for them.
The playground itself is packed with things to climb and explore, and the views over the harbour make the whole experience feel special.
Large, spacious lawns extend right along the water. Perfectly suited for photos as, really, each snap appears Instagram-worthy. The fresh sea breeze makes you feel calm as well as makes you reluctant to leave.
The thing we like best? Choose a quieter grassy patch, spread out a picnic blanket, take out snacks and coffee, and chill by the water. It appears time passes more slowly in a pleasant way. Kids play wildly, dogs fetch sticks, and all seem simply happier and less rushed.
Head slightly farther east and you will reach the boardwalk—on sunny days the water appears incredible and it’s a popular spot for photos.
