We came because of the hype (Duncraig Adventure Hub) to let the kid play, but it turned out there were people everywhere. Looking around, it didn’t feel very suitable for younger kids, more suitable for at least 4+ years old. But overall this is a super creative playground in North Perth!

Just is that side of Duncraig, a newly opened place called Adventure Hub’s playground inside Percy Doyle Reserve.
This is a playground themed around “Sensory Little Monsters.”. Every corner hides a different “monster mission.” Kids look for monsters while playing, an immersive adventure experience! Each “Monster” represents one sensory mission, kids are super engaged while playing. 13 “Sensory Monsters,” 13 ways to experience! Each monster represents one sensory threshold.
Slides, climbing, balancing, chasing, a one-stop place to burn energy. While chasing, climbing, touching, and exploring, kids get to know the world, and also get to know themselves.
The designers really turned “sensory education” into an adventure story.
Then there are two pipe slides, one big one small, beside them there are steps so small children can go up themselves without needing a parent to carry them, this detail I feel is quite a good design.
Underneath the tree shade there is a wooden nature playground area with a small house, a shed, and even an imitation shop, the kind of place where you can role play.
There is also a water and sand counter, just that kind that small children can never get enough of, the swing area has normal swings and also bird nest style ones, all in a shaded spot, this is a big plus.
The other area is the Lotterywest bicycle and skateboard area.
The skatepark is built pretty seriously, it has a bounce track, and it feels like no matter if you are experienced or just learning you can find a route that suits you, my son brought his skateboard and played in there for a very very long time
Beside it there is also a multi-function ball court where you can play basketball, just that one side had people playing ball and the other side had people skating, both sides not affecting each other, that kind of layout is quite reasonable
The seating area has shade and several barbecue stoves and super long picnic tables, suitable for bringing a big family or gathering with friends, beside the skatepark there are also several chairs made into skateboard shapes, I had no reaction at first glance but came back to it later and felt this detail is very cute
The bathroom is barrier-free, the whole area has surveillance installed, and the parking spots are enough because it is originally just a big reserve so the surrounding facilities are still quite complete, right beside it is a library so you can finish playing and drop in to borrow a few books on the way out.
Anyway if you plan to bring the kids, remember to bring snacks and do good sun protection, if you want to skate remember to wear a helmet, morning or evening is cooler, in the big summer heat the noon sun should be quite hard to bear.
We will definitely go again!
