There’s actually a little Dutch-style garden hidden near Melbourne! Today we visited Melbourne’s little Dutch Windmill Gardens in the north-west. It’s absolutely beautiful and perfect for taking photos. It gives off strong Monet’s Garden vibes. Back when we travelled in the Netherlands, we never got to see a windmill, but somehow we finally did in Melbourne.

We were already amazed while driving into the car park. It’s just so beautiful. If our kid gets married here one day, we would definitely be very happy!
The garden isn’t huge, but it’s incredibly well maintained and tidy.
It’s mainly a wedding venue and entry is free. The willow trees swaying by the lake in the breeze made the whole place feel so peaceful. It really felt like discovering a hidden photo spot, and we were secretly thrilled.
This place is mainly used for weddings and various events, so everything feels thoughtfully designed, beautifully maintained gardens, a tranquil lake, and the windmill. Every corner looks like something from a postcard!

It’s most stunning in spring, when it feels like stepping into a fairytale world. There’s even a small pavilion covered in wisteria flowers.
It’s actually a wedding venue. The grounds are small but full of charm. Beside the lake sits a large windmill, along with smaller windmills and a little chapel.
Great for photography lovers. Film photography looks especially beautiful here!
Free entry, no ticket required. Dogs are not allowed. When there aren’t any events being held, you can visit for free at any time, and the staff are all very friendly.

It took us about 50 minutes to drive from Melbourne’s eastern suburbs, which isn’t too far, but there are very few other attractions nearby. If you don’t have other plans near here, it’s probably not worth making a special trip just for this.
