Warabimochi Kamakura Melbourne CBD Review

Warabimochi Kamakura Melbourne CBD Review

Finally Kamakura warabi mochi has opened in Melbourne!! We took mum into the city over the weekend! We randomly walked past this shop and realised it’s actually my favourite warabi mochi from Kamakura!!

Their storefront is quite small, so it’s very easy to walk past without noticing. But once inside, it honestly feels like a hidden gem!! And focusing on doing just one dessert really well is not easy!

Warabimochi Kamakura Melbourne CBD Review

The staff coat the mochi in front of you, the whole process is so satisfying!

They insist on using imported ingredients from Japan, paired with authentic Japanese recipes.

Their Warabi Mochi is not the kind of overly sweet or heavy dessert, but soft, smooth, and melts in your mouth, it’s just the real texture of warabi mochi, chewy but not sticky! They all taste so good… super soft!! Even better with kuromitsu syrup.

My personal favourite is black sesame!! We even packed another box to take home.

The Kakigori Japanese shaved ice is also HUGE, they are not too sweet but super fluffy! We love their mango yoghurt warabi mochi drink too.

Feels like it’s going to be the next queue hotspot haha

Classic roasted soybean powder flavour! Super fragrant and addictive, can’t go wrong

Black Sesame Warabimochi
Super rich black sesame aroma, comes with kuromitsu syrup on the side

Premium Japanese Strawberry Milk
Real strawberry pieces at the bottom, super satisfying with cream and warabi mochi

Roasted Green Tea Latte w/ Warabimochi
More roasted flavour than regular matcha, with warabi mochi inside for extra texture

Black sugar + kinako latte, very rich soybean aroma, very Japanese-style sweet flavour

They also had a Mother’s Day limited tote bag recently
The wooden box packaging also makes it a really nice Japanese gift
