Blue Mountains Grand Canyon Walk

Blue Mountains Grand Canyon Walk

We parked at Grand Canyon Carpark and entered the loop from Neates Glen Carpark, completing the full circle and returning via Evans Lookout to the original parking lot.

Grand Canyon Walk Hiking Experience

  • Time Taken: About 2 hours 20 minutes at a normal pace with photo stops
  • Personal Favourite: We particularly love loop hikes, no retracing steps! The Grand Canyon loop is incredibly beautiful! Dappled sunlight through trees, flowing streams and small waterfalls
  • Trail Condition: The path is very walkable but has many up-and-down stairs. The last 30-40 minutes are basically all uphill. When you finally climb that last stair to Evans Lookout, the expansive view makes you feel completely refreshed! Highly recommend pushing through to see this rewarding view!

Hiking Notes

  • The entire loop is mountainous with many slippery wet areas and numerous stairs, wear proper sports shoes for safety (waterproof non-slip ones are even better!)
  • Though the walk flows well, we recommend coming early to manage time. The trail goes quite deep, it gets dark and cold toward evening. Bring a light jacket if you’re sensitive to cold!
  • Try to avoid periods right after rain! There will be puddles and it gets very slippery and you’ll be stepping in mud

Overall

We super enjoyed this route! Highly recommended as a great weekend getaway!
