Waterloo and Zetland finally have a market too! Starting from this Easter, Green Square kicks off its weekend market every Saturday from 8 am to 2 pm! We went on the first day, and it was bustling with activity.
There’s a market open near Green Square station on weekends! The fruits and vegetables are all very fresh! You can also find the mini strawberries which are so cute!
What we think
There are several stalls selling alcohol too. Found an instant cocktail syrup with dried tangerine peel flavour, mixed with sparkling water, it’s really refreshing and delicious.
There are sourdough bread shining in the sunlight, as well as egg tarts, donuts, candy stores, Vietnamese noodles, pizza, Spanish seafood rice, Indian grilled bread, and Japanese pancakes (Okonomiyaki) that resemble fried noodles (heard they’re delicious but the queue was too long, so maybe next time).
Plus, there are various handmade crafts, a dog-exclusive store, and a band playing live music, creating a lively atmosphere!
This venue feels perfect for a market, it’s spacious, with enough room to put up parasols and tables for everyone to sit and eat. Even when it’s crowded, it doesn’t feel cramped. It’s a great place for locals to walk their dogs on weekends.
You may want to take the train as parking is hard to find.
